Registration information: CONNECT to Excellence Conference



Training and Professional DevelopmentMake plans now to join CCCOnline for their free annual CONNECT to Excellence Conference at the beautiful Denver Johnson and Wales University campus on September 19, 2014.  

CCCOnline has invited experts from all over Colorado and the United States to speak to the theme "Measuring Our Success" in such diverse fields as online science instruction, writing across the curriculum, project-based learning and online flipped classrooms.  Our sessions will offer opportunities to exchange ideas and best practices on assessment, student verification and the latest technology tools with colleagues from across the state. 

There will be opportunities for CCCOnline instructors to meet with administrators, share their insights, and learn about new procedures.

We invite everyone interested in online education in Colorado to participate in this one-day conference in Denver. See our CONNECT to Excellence website to read about the 30+ sessions being offered. Registration is now open through Eventbrite!  Select your sessions before they fill up. Conference and box lunch are free of charge for CCCS instructors and staff.

CCCOnline Annual Conference Call for Proposals--Reminder!



The CCCOnline CONNECT to Excellence Committee is looking for proposals for the CONNECT Conference scheduled on September 19, 2014. 

Our four strands for 2014 are:
·       Online Instruction
·       Online Learners
·       Assessment
·       Technology

We are particularly interested in hearing about your best ideas for the following subjects:

·       Designing courses for Quality Matters certification
·       Techniques for engaging students in discussions
·       Ways to share professional or discipline content with students
·       Establishing instructor presence in your courses
·       Interesting Web 2.0 apps
·       Useful resources for online libraries, for LORs, or for your particular discipline
·       Training online instructors
·       ADA/Section 508 compliance
·       Open source texts or media
·       Complying with copyright and the TEACH Act
·       Assessing online courses across the curriculum
·       Teaching writing across the curriculum

There are lab classrooms if you want to share hands-on practices.

CONNECT Conference: Sessions & Schedule



This year's CONNECT conference comes with an increased focus on connecting our instructors with new innovation and inspiration in online teaching and learning. 


The conference will include headlining presentations by keynote speakers, and over 25 breakout sessions by CCCOnline instructors and staff members on teaching and learning strategies, pedagogy, and technology.

The Conference will open at 7:30 AM for registration and a light breakfast.

CONNECT Keynote Speaker Highlight


We’re thrilled to unveil our keynote speakers for the 2013 CONNECT to EXCELLENCE Conference, which will feature Phil Hill from MindWires and Jep Enck.


Phil Hill (@PhilOnEdTech) is an educational technology consultant and analyst who has spent the last 10 years advising in online education and educational technology markets. As an independent consultant and analyst, Phil helps higher education institutions develop effective strategies to understand and implement online education programs. Phil’s clients have included the University of Iowa, UCLA, California State University, DeVry University, Colorado Community College System, University of Maryland University College, among others.

Phil is also an author, blogger at e-Literate, and speaker, and he has become recognized in the educational technology community for his insights into the broader education market trends and issues. In addition to e-Literate, Phil has also written for EDUCAUSE Review and been quoted at Inside Higher Ed and Washington Business Journal.


CONNECT is a free, one-day event drawing around 300 instructors from CCCOnline and other colleges in the Colorado Community College system.  This annual event is an important opportunity for our online instructors to meet face to face to engage with each other and with new ideas in eLearning innovation. The conference will include presentations on the current state of CCCOnline, headlining presentations by keynote speakers, and breakout sessions by CCCOnline instructors and staff members on teaching and learning strategies, pedagogy, and technology.
